APC-led Atiku Can Now Go To His Village Without Restraint – Lai Mohammed

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, has come under fire from the federal government, which claims he lacks the moral authority to criticize the APC, which is currently in power.

This was said on Monday at the 7th iteration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration Scorecard Series (2015-2023) in Abuja by the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed.

Mohammed made that point.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar shouldn’t be the one to criticize the APC-led federal administration of doing nothing, in my opinion. Why? Because there was no motorable road to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s hometown or, for that matter, to important local governments in the Southern Senatorial zone, which served as Adamawa’s food basket and economic nerve center until the government of President Muhammadu Buhari took office, during the 16 years of the PDP’s rule, eight of which he served as vice president.

“Today, gentlemen, the Mayo Belwa-Jada-Ganye Toungo road has been fully built, and Alhaji Atiku travels on it to reach Jada, his hometown.”

For the purpose of highlighting the accomplishments of the present government, the score card series was introduced in October. Six ministers, including the ones in charge of housing and public works, transportation, aviation, the interior, agriculture and rural development, and finance, budget, and national planning, have already presented their scorecards.

Prior to the elections in 2023, the minister commented on what he called an increasing trend among some opposition presidential candidates to minimize the accomplishments of the current administration. He claimed that Atiku Abubakar has been the worst offender in this regard.

Atiku, a former vice president, was cited as claiming that after eight years, the APC has done nothing for Nigeria.

“All state institutions had been looted, including the local government administration, the police, the court system, and the markets, schools, and hospitals. Traditional suzerains, such as Emirs and Chiefs, had been driven from their palaces after the terrorists used them as their base of operations.

“Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, and Little Gombi are the five local governments in the Northern Senatorial zone that are affected.

He claimed that Maiha Local Government and Hong Local Government were two local governments in the Central Senatorial zone that were “effectively under the control of the Boko Haram terrorists.”
