Aide Counters Adeleke: “Oyetola Did Not Take Any Loan In Four Years.”

According to his media assistant, Ismail Omipidan, the former governor of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola, never utilized a bank facility throughout his four years in office.

He said that the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola government was responsible for the debt in issue.

Omipidan also attacked the incoming governor’s allegation that Oyetola used a N18 billion borrowing facility, calling it both ludicrous and unfounded. He argued that the assertion was made maliciously and just out of ignorance.

The governor was then asked to reveal information about the outstanding loan facilities that he claimed his government had inherited as well as the years they were obtained.

Omipidan said that while Osun residents and Nigerians from far and wide are aware of the facts, the government is trying to defame and blackmail Oyetola.

“When discussing loans, it is impossible to discuss the maturity date without also discussing the dates at which the loans were obtained.

“Either those who wrote the speech for the Governor to read did not comprehend the ramifications of their position, they did it out of pure malice to humiliate their Principal, or both, are likely to blame. Otherwise, they would not have claimed that my Principal accepted a N18 billion loan if they had read and comprehended his farewell speech well.

“Once again, they contradicted each other in the table that they independently issued. Look at item 7 on their list; they said that the N3 billion monthly payment occurred for six months starting in December 2021. However, they assert that the same N18 billion was used after the July election. You now see why I indicated that people may be both bewildered and naughty.

“My Principal said, “We did not take any bank loan facility for four years,’ in the third paragraph of the speech from the rear. However, we benefited from the federal government’s N3 billion monthly intervention for six months in order to lessen the impact of the budget support facility and salary bailouts used by the previous administration, just as we have already paid N97 billion of the entire debt we inherited in 2018. I really want to think that’s what they’ve twisted into loan now. All 36 of the Federation’s states were included in this initiative. Additionally, the six-month period of N3 billion every month began prior to the July 16 gubernatorial election. This can be shown to be true.
