16 Boko Haram militants are killed in Borno by military airstrikes.
16 Boko Haram militants were killed by a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Super Tucano fighter aircraft in the Banki border region of Bama Council, Borno State.
Following intelligence-driven aerial and ground-coordinated military operations by troops in the border regions with Cameroon, insurgents were neutralized on November 16 and 17, 2022.
Yesterday in Maiduguri, Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert from the Lake Chad region, revealed that “Boko Haram has suffered another devastating loss of its foot soldiers in the coordinated joint military operations in the border areas of Banki.”
He said that the terrorists who had been neutralized had been sleeping in the border towns of Chongolo and Tangalanga with Cameroon, located 134 kilometers east of Maiduguri, the state capital.
Regarding the manner in which the terrorists were put to death, he stated: “The bombs from the detailed attack Super Tucano Aircraft accurately hit on the target,” adding that as a result, 16 of the terrorists and their motorcycles were destroyed.
He continued by saying that the action was carried out in response to reliable intelligence inputs that the village was one of the bases that the fighters were using.
In the Banki border regions with Cameroon, he claimed, “the terrorists used the settlements as their staging locations to attack nearby military bases and soft targets.”
