Why Deji Adeyanju Thinks Peter Obi Should Resign for Tinubu

Socio-political activist Deji Adeyanju described Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) as business partners on Saturday.

According to Adeyanju, people who vote for Obi also vote for Atiku.

Adeyanju urged Nigerians in a series of tweets to support a presidential candidate who had never before embezzled public funds.

“A vote for Obi is a vote for Atiku,” he said. Do not forget that they ran for office together in 2019 and are both business partners. Give Nigeria a fresh start by electing a candidate who has never previously stolen from the government.

The activist from Abuja also recommended that LP members pressure Obi to resign in favor of Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

He clarified that if Obi steps down for Tinubu, the vote in the South of the country won’t be split.

Why not convince your candidate to resign in favor of Asiwaju since you guys are doing South United to prevent another northerner since Labor Party members have stated that they don’t mind Tinubu instead of Atiku? This recommendation is excellent,” he wrote.

Recall that Obi served as Atiku’s running mate for the PDP in the 2019 presidential election.

But in 2023, he switched from the PDP to the Labour Party.
