Sunderland provides Manchester United with a positive update about Amad.

When picking his starting XI for any given matchday, Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray acknowledges that he can no longer ignore the “dynamic and explosive” Amad.

The 20-year-old Amad left Manchester United on loan during the summer transfer window and has played in 10 Championship games for Sunderland this year. The Ivorian has now started back-to-back games against Burnley and Luton Town after having to wait for his opportunity.

Amad is anticipated to start against Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night after convincing Mowbray that he deserves to be a regular member of his starting lineup after his performance against Luton.

“I believe he became emotionally involved in the game on Saturday (against Luton), and that was fantastic to witness,” Mowbray remarked. With his physical attributes, he was the best in every category, including the number of high-speed sprints and the distance traveled. He also demonstrated his skill while being very athletic.

That is encouraging for us and, in my opinion, makes him more likely to start for us rather than just be a young kid I can use as a substitute.

“I’m hoping it occurs with the other young boys, too, over time,” Mowbray said. They’re still finding their feet right now, but Amad is in front and seems like a first-team starter to me, maybe because he’s played more games. They bring various attributes. Amad is vibrant and vivacious.

Amad joined United in January 2021 after signing a transfer agreement from Italian club Atalanta months before. He has since played nine senior matches for the team.
