Kumuyi said, “I Won’t Endorse Or Dismiss Anyone for President.”

Dr. Williams Kumuyi, the general superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, said yesterday that he would neither support or rule anybody out of running for president of the country in the general elections of 2023.

While visiting Jalingo, Taraba State, for a convention of church workers from throughout the world, he addressed yesterday.

Dr. Kumuyi said that Nigerians need to have the freedom to pick who would lead them democratically and that prayers were to be continued asking God to guide them in making the greatest decision possible for the nation.

I don’t want to go into endorsing or rejecting somebody, he said. We just ask God to provide us the finest president and leader for our nation in our prayers. He is aware of who is who and what each person will do when they arrive. And since God works in such a strange manner, we cannot predict what will happen if a certain individual enters the room.

But we are aware of how God used Nebuchadnezzar and all the other kings of biblical eras to accomplish his purposes. And not everyone who supported this position or school of thought was among them. We wish to put everything in God’s hands and let the folks of Nigeria elect the leaders of our nation via democratic elections.

“This is the first time we are having this around the world and it has pleased the Lord to chose Taraba State to be the anchor and springboard of this impartation,” he said, urging church leaders in the state to encourage their pastors, ministers, and workers to attend the conference.

When he welcomed the cleric, Dr. Jirapye Magaji, state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), expressed gratitude on behalf of the state’s Christian community for having the opportunity to host the conference.

In recognition of the cleric’s outstanding work in God’s vineyard, he also gave him a plaque.
