UEFA will reimburse Liverpool fans who attended the Champions League final.

Liverpool supporters who purchased tickets to the Paris 2022 Champions League final will get a refund from Uefa.

That comes after a recent independent investigation concluded that Uefa is “primarily responsible” for the disorderly atmosphere leading up to the match versus Real Madrid.

Kickoff was postponed by 36 minutes because spectators were surrounded and gassed with tear gas outside of Paris’ Stadium de France.

According to Uefa, the ticket allotment for Liverpool FC for the championship game, or 19,618 tickets, is covered by the return program.

Theodore Theodoridis, general secretary of Uefa, stated, “We have taken into consideration a great number of opinions voiced both publicly and privately and we feel we have designed a structure that is thorough and fair.

“We appreciate the contributions made by the Spirit of Shankly and Liverpool Disabled Fans Association, as well as the open and honest discussion that has taken place throughout this time.

We acknowledge the unfavorable experiences of those spectators on the day, and we will reimburse ticket holders who were the most negatively impacted by the stadium’s access issues.
