Ten Hag: Why Man United Bested Barcelona

Erik ten Hag, the head coach of Manchester United, said that his players improved in the second half of the match, which helped his club upset Barcelona 2-1 in the Europa League playoff second-leg match.

Ten Hag said that during their Europa League match at Old Trafford, Barcelona did not provide many opportunities or issues for Man United.

The Dutchman saw as Man United defeated Barcelona thanks to two goals from Fred and Antony.

Ten Hag’s team advanced to the round of 16 stages after playing to a 2-2 tie in the first leg at Camp Nou. The team won 4-3 on the night overall.

Ten Hag remarked in his post-game press conference:

“I believe it was a cheap penalty, but Bruno [Fernandes] takes the risk, and we have to get accustomed to it since it differs from the Premier League’s strategy.

Bruno had two chances for us, but Barcelona didn’t give us a lot of opportunities or issues.

“Our lack of belief was the issue. That was far better in the second half. You both go ahead with great confidence, as do the substitutes.

Newcastle United and Man United will now square off in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
