New Chelsea Star Will Miss Crucial Matches

Joao Felix, a new star acquisition for Chelsea, had a rocky start to life in the Premier League.

Felix made his debut against Fulham earlier this month after joining the Blues on loan from Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the campaign.

The attacker was shown a straight red card after 58 minutes for a risky challenge on Kenny Tete, despite playing well in the early going.

He has missed Chelsea’s 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace and will continue to sit out the next two crucial matches.

When will Joao Felix be eligible to resume playing?

Felix will be permitted to resume his work on February 11th, a Saturday.

For Chelsea’s match against West Ham at the London Stadium, the 23-year-old is most likely to rejoin the team.

He will thus miss the crucial match between the Blues and Liverpool before sitting out the Fulham game when they go to Stamford Bridge.

Due to Felix’s absence, Chelsea will lose over £3 million, since the Portuguese international makes £250,000 per week.

Along with the payments they paid Atletico for the loan to be confirmed, the club will also have to pay him £1 million while he is on the sidelines.

As they continue to occupy a middle-of-the-pack position in the Premier League, Graham Potter’s team will be anxious for their new player to come back.

Felix seemed to have the potential to boost a struggling Blues team after a great debut, at least until his red card.
