Michael Owen Picks Team For Premier League Title This Year
4qMichael Owen, a former striker for Liverpool and Manchester United, believes Arsenal will win the Premier League this year.
Mikel Arteta’s team has shown, in Owen’s opinion, that they have what it takes to win the championship in May.
With 17 games played, Arsenal is presently leading Manchester City by 5 points in the Premier League standings.
Tuesday’s scoreless draw with Newcastle United cost the Gunners their first point at the Emirates Stadium.
Even without Gabriel Jesus, who they lost due to injury during the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, they have maintained the quality this season.
“They [Arsenal] are really talented. This is not just a passing fad. The crew is competent. After seeing Manchester City defeat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, Owen said on Premier League Productions, “Great on the eye, strong, swift, got goalscorers and some fresh new players.”
“At the Emirates, I simply get a bad feeling. The club as a whole feels there is a trajectory at the moment, and I don’t believe it’s a fleeting fad. The supporters are solidly behind them. They will remain in place.
