Mbappe Discusses Griezmann Being Passed Over For The France Captaincy.
|Kylian Mbappe, the new captain of France, called Antoine Griezmann’s unhappiness at not getting the job “understandable.”
After the international retirement of World Cup-winning captain Hugo Lloris, 24-year-old Mbappe was elected captain this week.
Griezmann, 32, was apparently dissatisfied with his position as vice-captain, and one story said that he was thinking about quitting.
In response to Antoine’s disappointment, which is reasonable, Mbappe added, “I talked to Antoine.”
“I admitted to him that I could have responded similarly.
What I said to him was that I wouldn’t be better than him as long as he remained vice captain and I remained captain.
