Former Atletico Goalie: Felix Should Think Twice Before Speaking

Joao Felix’s remarks this week had Miguel Angel Moya, a former goalkeeper for Atletico Madrid, upset.

Felix, who is now on loan from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea for the 2018–19 campaign, said he feels “more free” under Diego Simeone’s leadership at Chelsea.

There is no shortage of explanation for Chelsea’s preference to have players close to the opposing area (Félix claims that Chelsea attacks more), but you often need to weigh the words, according to Moya.

“You are in front of the media, and what you say might matter, particularly in Spain.

“Now that he has other teammates at Chelsea who recover the ball, he may feel more at ease there, but you have to tread carefully since you still represent Atlético de Madrid, and I believe your comments could be a bit more refined.”
