Bruno Fernandes should never lead Manchester United as captain.

Chris Sutton believes that Bruno Fernandes shouldn’t lead Manchester United once again after the team’s humbling 7-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday.

The Portuguese, who fills in for club captain Harry Maguire while he is out, received criticism for how he conducted himself throughout the match.

There are others who are far more suited to serve as captain, Sutton said.

They don’t have the finest leader in Fernando. There are better possibilities out there than him, Casemiro being one of them.

Raphael Varane was another possibility mentioned by former Premier League striker Sutton on BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club.

“I believe he ought to never lead Manchester United again,”

The 28-year-old Fernandes has 57 goals and 50 assists in 166 appearances for the club in all competitions, but Roy Keane, a former captain of United, dubbed his body language at Anfield “disgraceful,” while Gary Neville, another former captain, termed it “embarrassing” at times.

In the 81st minute, he also seemed to shove the assistant referee. The referee did not take any action at the moment, and the Football Association is not looking into what happened.
