Kylian Mbappe is being “considered” by Manchester United as Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement.
After the club ended his contract this week, the 37-year-old has left Old Trafford.
Since the summer, United has been linked to several strikers, but with Ronaldo’s departure, their search has become more urgent.
Ronaldo’s departure reduces the club’s wage bill significantly, enabling them to look to European or elite football for a replacement.
The UK Mirror reports that United is eager to sign Mbappe away from Paris Saint-Germain in January.
Mbappe will probably cost them more than “£150 million,” plus he will likely earn about £500,000 per week in salary, similar to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mbappe’s arrival in January would be a major coup for Erik ten Hag and could have a significant impact on the Premier League.
The Frenchman, who is only 23, has already won the World Cup and scored an amazing 221 goals in his club career.
