Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister criticized Fernando Santos on social media for benching her brother during Portugal’s 6-1 win against Switzerland on December 6.

Elma Aveiro claims that the Portuguese manager made fun of her brother and goes on to say that she is perplexed as to why Santos would not start the 37-year-old.

Goncalo Ramos led from the front and scored a hat-trick as Portugal went on to humiliate Switzerland.

Aveiro vented on Instagram over the exclusion of her brother, who began from the bench in a knockout game in a significant international competition for the first time since Euro 2008, on the platform.

She started by sharing a picture of the Portugal squad before the game and said, “Today we are all together, if you believe it needs to be like this I am here to witness it.”

She said, “Sure, Ronaldo is mortal, and yes, he won’t play forever. Unfortunately, he doesn’t score goals today because he’s old, and Portugal doesn’t need Ronaldo.

We discussed what we had heard, saying that nothing he had done was significant and had been remembered.
