Sergio Aguero Wins Bet Following Argentina’s World Cup Victory

Sergio Aguero, a former striker for Argentina, won a $8,000 wager when his nation won the 2022 World Cup.

Prior to the competition, Aguero placed a wager on Lionel Messi taking home the Golden Ball in Qatar.

On November 17, he bet that his former teammate will win a second Golden Ball as Player of the Tournament, establishing history.

Aguero shared an image of his bet sheet on social media, revealing that he had wagered $1,000 (£823) on Messi to win a major individual trophy in the Middle East.

He said that he “just realized” that he was entitled to a sizable return.

Aguero received $8,264 (£6, 800) from Messi for his outstanding World Cup efforts, which included scoring in every knockout round and finishing with a total of seven goals and three assists.
