Presnel Kimpembe’s World Cup participation is seriously in question.

Presnel Kimpembe, a central defender for Paris Saint-Germain, has his World Cup spot seriously questioned by RMC Sport, 24 hours before Didier Deschamps names his team for the event, which begins later this month in Qatar.

Since his Achilles tendon injury on September 10th, Kimpembe has only played for 70 minutes. The player today aimed to make a good impression on the France coaching staff by stating that he was confident in his level of fitness and that he was prepared to compete in the World Cup.

On Thursday, the 27-year-old is scheduled to practice with the first team at PSG. He will work out separately from the rest of the team and receive a few touches. According to recent public statements made by Christophe Galtier, Kimpembe expects to be included in the PSG lineup for this weekend’s match against Auxerre.
