Pele, A Legend In Brazil, Congratulates Messi.

The three-time World Cup champion player also paid tribute to Diego Maradona in his Instagram congratulations.

Pele, a football great who led Brazil to three World Cup victories, congratulated Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, on his first World Cup victory. The former Brazilian player, who was sent to the hospital earlier this month due to health concerns, praised Kylan Mbappe of France for scoring four goals (including one on a penalty kick) in the championship game and referred to Mbappe as the football of the future.

“Today’s football narrative is still captivating, as it always has been. Messi’s first World Cup victory was something his career trajectory merited. In the championship, my close buddy Mbappe scored four goals. What a gift to the future of our sport to see this show, Pele commented on his Instagram account.

The 82-year-old Brazilian icon, who had previously held the record for the most goals in a World Cup by a player under 24, congratulated Mbappe after the France youngster eclipsed Pele’s mark by scoring a double in France’s 3-1 victory against Poland. Mbappe made history on Sunday by becoming only the second player to ever score a hat-trick in a World Cup final. “Many thanks, @KMbappe. Pele had responded to Mbappe on Twitter after he had posted his record, saying, “I’m glad to see you breaking another one of my records in this Cup, my buddy!

The Brazilian star, who is recuperating in a hospital in Sao Paulo, also praised Morocco for making it to the Qatari semifinals. Pele also said that Argentine star Diego Maradona will be beaming down from the skies at the conclusion of his Instagram post. And I couldn’t help but commend Morocco for their outstanding effort. Congratulations to Argentina! It’s wonderful to see Africa prosper. Diego is undoubtedly grinning right now. Pele composed.
