– Kevin De Bruyne Erling Haaland will score 800 goals in his career
Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, has been predicted by colleague Kevin De Bruyne to reach the 800-goal mark in his career provided he remains healthy and performs at a high level of professionalism.
Haaland has scored 24 goals since joining Manchester City in the summer, and De Bruyne has already surpassed his assist total from the previous campaign thanks to the target man.
On Thursday in the Carabao Cup match against Liverpool, De Bruyne assisted Haaland to open the goal, and the two have since developed a successful working connection. Despite Haaland’s impressive scoring record, De Bruyne does not believe that he differs much from any other professional or striker he has played with.
“I don’t think much sets Erling apart from other folks. He plays football like any other regular person and doesn’t take himself too seriously, according to De Bruyne.
“When it comes to professional players or sportsmen, I believe everyone has a little advantage. If you don’t have that little something to make you the greatest version of yourself, I don’t believe you can become a professional player. He still enjoys life as a young child and plays football quite seriously. The most distinctive quality he has, in my opinion, is his passion of scoring goals.
De Bruyne even went so far as to say that Haaland may score hundreds more goals in his career if he maintains his present level of fitness and scoring.
Since they are all so different, De Bruyne remarked, “It is really difficult to compare [to other attackers].
“They all play the same position, yet some are tough players, others are lightning-quick runners, and they can all put goals in the net for no apparent reason. Due to his advanced age, Erling hasn’t, although they’ve all amassed 300 or 400 goals. Erling may be able to surpass it since he is so driven by objectives.
“He already has approximately 200 goals, so if he remains in shape and continues doing what he does, he can certainly reach 600, 700, or 800. I don’t really compare the others [I’ve played with] because that’s not how I see football. A top-tier striker, Erling. Since some of them are just starting out in their careers and others are at the end or in the midst, I don’t believe it’s fair to compare or rank them.
