The 2022 FIFA World Cup final will include both sides, and France striker Olivier Giroud has warned Argentina captain Lionel Messi that his squad would not allow him to enjoy himself.
Giroud promised that the French athletes will use every effort to limit Messi’s influence in the World Cup final.
This weekend in Qatar, France will square off against Argentina in the World Cup final.
Recently, Argentina upset Croatia 3-0, while Les Bleus defeated Morocco 2-0 in the semifinal match.
Giroud, who presently plays at AC Milan, said in a statement to TribalFootball:
Messi is a fantastic player, but we won’t allow him to have the finest night possible. We’re in it to win it. Another World Cup victory would be nice.
We’ll do all we can to stop him. However, Messi is not the only player on their squad. They employ excellent players on the squad as well. I believe this accounts for their strength.
