|Karim Benzema, a striker for France, suffered a thigh injury during practice and will not play in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
After assisting Real Madrid in winning the Champions League and La Liga, Benzema was awarded the 2022 Ballon d’Or, which is presented to the player of the year in international football.
He experienced a thigh injury, according to the French national squad, and was unable to participate in the competition.
The statement said, “The whole team feels heartbroken for Karim and wishes him a quick recovery.”
An MRI scan revealed a thigh muscle damage, which the French Football Federation said “would need a three-week recuperation time.”
France plays Australia on November 22, Denmark on November 26, and Tunisia on November 30 in Group D.
