Chelsea is being urged by Graham Potter to “re-energize” following a “difficult” spell.

After a difficult stretch, Graham Potter has urged his Chelsea teammates to “re-energize” during the World Cup break.

Chelsea lost 1-0 at Newcastle on Saturday, which left them winless in their past five Premier League games. The last time this occurred for the Blues was in 2012.

Chelsea is now in seventh position heading into the World Cup break, eight points outside of the Champions League berths.

When club football resumes around the end of December, Potter, who is coming under increasing criticism, urged Chelsea to “regroup and go again” after the game.

You have 13 matches in six weeks, many of which are away from home, for various reasons, he remarked. It has been difficult, but it is what it is. Now that we’ve had a break, we need to recharge.

“It is what it is for us in terms of what we’ve experienced with a very stressful time,” We must focus on the good. Many of the lads will be gone, but we can take a break, regroup, and continue when they return.

Potter said that his team’s performance was disappointing because they “didn’t have enough quality” and “had too many unforced mistakes.”

It was a difficult game for us, he remarked. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Caesar Azpilicueta were lost at halftime.

‘You can notice the differing timetables between the two teams. We have a demanding schedule, and Newcastle only plays once a week. This proved. But there were also far too many careless mistakes. Despite our lack of quality, we managed to get through a few times.

‘They got a winner in a game with slim chances. Even though we made changes, it wasn’t enough. They were pushing us back in the first half, which was obvious.

We were unable to leave the defensive third as much as we would have liked. We thus added a guy in the center of the field. Conor had a good shot, but our defensive line was a little shaky, so we gave up a successful finish.

Chelsea had dropped their previous two league contests to Brighton (4-1) and Arsenal (1-0), as well as two draws with Manchester United (1-1) and Brentford, prior to today.

After playing Bournemouth on December 27, Chelsea will play Nottingham Forest on January 1 and Manchester City on January 5.
