Carragher: Cristiano Ronaldo wants Manchester United to fire him.

According to Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender, Cristiano Ronaldo wants Manchester United to fire him.

This was said by Carragher after discussing Ronaldo’s explosive chat with Piers Morgan of Sky Sports.

The 37-year-old said in the interview that United had betrayed him and maintained he would never respect boss Erik ten Hag.

Carragher remarked:

There is no doubt that he wants to be fired.

“He informed the club of his desire to depart over the summer. There were no takers, either as a result of his pay or the sum Manchester United demanded.

“I believe he is seeking to get fired or wants to depart on a free transfer since he knows it will be the same in the next transfer window.”

In June 2023, Ronaldo’s current United deal will come to an end.

In the summer of 2021, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner returned to Old Trafford and ended the season as the team’s leading scorer with 24 goals.

He will now go for Qatar with Portugal to make his sixth World Cup participation.
