The Polish striker would be ineligible for Barcelona’s matches against Espanyol (which he will undoubtedly miss), Real Betis, and Atletico Madrid, keeping him out of play for more than two months overall. Given the complexity of those games, Barcelona may have lost more ground than they did in Pamplona as a result.

Lewandowski’s actions highlighted Barcelona’s inconsistent behavior throughout the season. This runs counter to the striker’s own admission that he is assuming a leadership position at the team.
