To strengthen the state’s economy, we’ll localize industries in Lagelu.

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, visited Lagelu Local Government on Wednesday as part of his campaign tour of local governments. There, he promised that, if re-elected, his administration will localize companies there.

The governor said that by doing this, the state’s economy would be strengthened.

In a speech to the traditional council of the local government in Lalupon, Governor Makinde criticized the local government’s notable industries for going out of business, citing examples like the Nigerian Gas Cylinder, Exide Battery, and Leyland. He asserted that industrialization in the local government needed to be revived, and that his administration would take care of that under Omituntun 2.0.

According to Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the governor’s chief press secretary, the governor praised the traditional leaders for supporting his administration ever since he was sworn in as the state’s governor.

He promised to adhere to the law and advance lower-grade Baales who are eligible for advancement in the state, per the traditional council’s request.

Oyo and Osun states would work together to restore the 91 km Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo Road, and Governor Makinde said that the contractor will be on site within the next three weeks.

The governor also voiced worry about the inadequate electricity supply in the region and promised that the problem would be resolved when it was necessary.

The governor reaffirmed that he would continue to be fair to all religious organisations in meetings with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the League of Imams and Alfas, and the traditional worshipers in Lagelu Local Government.

I appreciate the support you’ve given me ever since this administration began, he remarked.

“I have taken notice of all of your demands, and I now guarantee that the majority of the problems will be resolved as we are also aware of them. You raised the subject of beaded crowns, but let me add that those who intended to alter our established institutions erred. And I contend that a governor, no matter how powerful he may be, cannot comprehend all internal problems.
