The National Assembly Rejects The Findings On The Complex’s Dss Siege.

The administration of the National Assembly has denied internet claims that on Wednesday, disguised agents of the Department of State Services closed the gates of the National Assembly premises, preventing MPs from entering.

This is stated in a statement made on Thursday in Abuja by Mr. Agada Emmanuel, the Director of Information for the National Assembly.

The alleged incident at the main entry gate heading into the National Assembly compound in 2018 is shown in the re-posted unconfirmed video footage.

He denounced the intent behind the film and said, “The main entry gate is now under restoration and approaching completion for commissioning.”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a social media user said that the DSS had besieged the National Assembly premises in a post from his @Chukwuebuka Twitter handle.

Emmanuel emphasized that the National Assembly staff is not now being besieged by the DSS and that the whole video is false and deceptive.

He claims that Alhaji Sani Tambuwal, the new Clerk of the National Assembly, and his management team are completely in command, focused, and motivated to accomplish their predetermined objectives in accordance with their primary responsibilities.

To prevent further misuse and the transmission of false material into the media, he encouraged security services to look into the Twitter account’s user.

As this repost may have been intended, he said that such disinformation was capable of causing fear, havoc, and worry, which would ultimately lead to the collapse of law and order.
