Teenage Girl Is Killed By A Shark In Western Australia.

Officials in Western Australia said that a 16-year-old girl drowned on Saturday after being attacked by a shark while she was swimming in a river.

According to a state government statement, the child suffered severe injuries after being bitten by an unidentified type of shark in the Swan River in the Perth suburb of Fremantle.

Despite attempts to resuscitate her, she was dragged from the water and confirmed dead at the scene, according to Paul Robinson, acting police inspector for the Fremantle area.

He said during a press conference that it was still extremely early to say that she had been on the river with pals.

They rode jet skis, I saw. It’s possible that a pod of dolphins was seen nearby, and the young female dove in to swim with them.

Robinson called it a “very, very painful situation” and said the girl’s Perth-based family was “extremely saddened by the news.”

According to fisheries specialists, it was rare to see sharks in that section of the river, he added.
