Soldiers defeat 64 in the NE/NW and free 122 captured civilians.

According to the military high command of Nigeria, forces on the front lines have neutralized 64 in the North East and North West while continuously freeing 122 hostage civilians over the last two weeks.

 

Major General Musa Danmadami, the Director of Defence Media Operations (DMO), who made the announcement today, highlighted that the military, along with other security agencies, has continued to achieve remarkable success in all of its operations around the nation.

 

The Director DMO said that in less than two weeks, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) soldiers had killed 42 terrorists, captured more than 14 terrorists and members of their support network, and freed SIX hostages who were civilians.

 

He said that over 267 terrorists turned themselves in during the time period under consideration as forces discovered a stash of weapons and ammunition.

 

The same number of 42 terrorists were eliminated by the troops, and they also detained five bandits, nine terrorist logistical providers, two suspect vandals, and five armed herders. Six kidnapped civilians were also freed by the military, while 267 terrorists and their family members, including 22 adult men, 128 adult females, and 117 children, turned themselves in to the military at various points in the North East theater of operations, the official said.

 

He continued, “Troops have neutralized scores of terrorists, destroyed their structures and logistics at terrorists’ hideouts, enclaves, and camps, particularly in Dogon Chuku in the fringes of Northern Tumbums, Arina Kasa in Southern Tumbums of the Lake Chad Basin, Chidike in the Mandara Mountains, and Gezuwa area, all in Borneo State.”

 

In another development, General Danmadami said that throughout various operations carried out in various areas of Plateau, Niger, Kogi, and Benue States over the course of time, soldiers of Operation SAFE HAVEN had killed 12 terrorists, captured 40, and rescued 74 in the North Central Zone.

 

“Equally, on January 22, 2023, soldiers stormed a criminal hideout in Njuu and Waku village in the Logo and Guma Local Government Areas of Benue State and established contact with terrorists on the basis of reliable information.
