Sen. Kaita Is Scolded By The Apc Over The N1.1 Billion Government Of Katsina Accusation.

14 January 2023 in Katsina (NAN) Sen. Ahmed Babba-Kaita (PDP-Katsina North) has come under fire from the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Katsina State for claiming that the state government intends to utilize N1.1 billion in public monies to support the party.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Kaita was elected in 2019 on the APC platform; however, he recently switched parties to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

At a recent campaign event in Daura Local Government, Kaita claimed that the state government intended to utilize more than N1.1 billion in taxpayer money to support the APC candidates.

Alhaji Bala Musawa, the state’s vice chairman of the APC, responded to the claims on Friday in Katsina by saying: “It was unexpected to hear such from the Senator.

“Both he and Sen. Yakubu Lado, the PDP’s candidate for governor, have experience in administration and are aware of the possibilities.

“I won’t be shocked if it was someone else who made this claim. Sen. Kaita was a member of our group. He was elected to the House of Representatives before rising to the position of senator.

“I was one among those who helped him get the APC senatorial ticket. To make sure he would be successful in this regime, we stayed in Daura for around three days.

How much evidence did he provide during the primary race to support his denial that all of these accusations were true? It’s unexpected. I had no idea he was capable of making such a claim.

“As an APC member, once these matters are brought up, we anticipate that he left the party in error and hope that he would rejoin. He still has time, in my opinion, to make amends.

While asserting that Gov. Aminu Masari had made significant contributions to Kaita’s development, Musawa added: “But, like a human being, he may make errors.

I can recall his date of party membership, his method of running for office, how he won the ticket, and the sources of funding for his victory if we are to begin exposing things.

“As a senator, he is supposed to be talking in a mature manner because he represents 12 local governments,” Musawa said, pleading with Katia to respect his authority.
