Residents’ Security Is Ensured By The Fct Security Committee

The Federal Capital Territory’s people have been guaranteed of their protection before, during, and after the 2023 General Elections by the FCT Security Committee.

Elections for the president and national parliament will take place on February 23, while those for the governor and state house of representatives will take place on March 11.

This was revealed on Thursday in Abuja by Muhammad Hazat-Sule, the FCT’s Director of Information and Communication.

He said that the committee invited locals to turn up in large numbers to fulfill their civic duty.

Also, according to Hazat-Sule, sufficient security arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of INEC officials and other stakeholders.

The Committee asked people to vote for the candidates of their choice and to behave themselves lawfully during the election at its meeting held in the Gwarinpa I Area of Abuja.

To ensure law and order in the FCT, all possible flash points that might cause a breach of peace have been meticulously identified and the proper monitoring procedures have been implemented.

The committee determined that the 2023 General Elections may take place in an environment of peace and tranquillity after reviewing all security-related issues and expressing satisfaction with the degree of readiness by the relevant security formations in the Territory.

According to him, the committee took notice of the FCT Administration’s proactiveness in limiting commuter movements near the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

As the INEC Collation Center for the 2023 Presidential election, the center has received FCTA approval.

He said that because of its reputation for peace, the FCT would not put up with any behavior that threatened the tranquility and growth of the region.
