Rage Toward Him Is Seen In Ayu’s Suspension, And Wike Backs Action

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, said that the suspension of Iyorchia Ayu, the People’s Democratic national chairman, was the result of members’ resentment over the party’s appalling defeats in the general elections held on February 25 and March 18.

He said he backed Ayu’s suspension in an interview with Channels Television on Monday that NAIJALOADED saw.

He said that the reason why the public rejected the PDP was because Ayu would not step down as the party’s chairman.

Ayu was suspended by his ward level in Benue State due to anti-Party acts, according to NAIJALOADED.

The governor of Rivers State also said that Ayu had exchanged his interest for the PDP’s electoral triumph.

“Only in our nation can a candidate who utterly failed to win the general election still seek the chairmanship of the PDP.

“As a national chairman of the people, Ayu lost his ward, which represents your local government; in addition to finishing in a distant third place, you (Ayu) also lost the presidential and gubernatorial elections.

“I agree that Ayu should be suspended in Benue.

“Thank God he presided over the massive failure of the party during the general elections; if he had resigned before the polls, they would have claimed that his departure was the reason the PDP lost the election.

“We cannot allow those who have made no political contributions to the party to control the party,”
