Our Neutrality Pledge Is Sacred, According To Eu Observers

The Nigerian general elections on February 25 and March 11 will be observed impartially, according to the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU-EOM).

The vow was made by the EU Election Observation Mission, headed by Mr. Robert Hall and Diana Ferrari, during a visit to Leader Olumba-Olumba Obuh, the founder and spiritual leader of the Brothers of the Cross and Star (BCS), in Calabar.

Hall said that it was essential that they contact the spiritual leader when describing their objective on Sunday during the visit.

He praised the spiritual leader for his selfless efforts to bring together families and neighborhoods.

“We are assigned as election observers to Cross River and Akwa Ibom, and we have heard excellent things about the spiritual leader and the many people he has helped in Nigeria influence.

“We need to visit the Leader of BCS because we need to inform the voters about the importance of voting in the general election.

Speaking of maintaining our neutrality throughout the election, he added that nothing could force us to go against our mandate or the pledge we had sworn.

In response, Obu said he was delighted by their visit and would provide them the assistance they sought, adding that the next election was crucial for Nigerians but that he had no favorite candidate.

He informed the EU delegation that he had counseled his followers to use their franchise without restraint.

“I call on Nigerians to act peacefully both during and during the general election. Vote buying, election tampering, violence, and murder must not occur during this election.

“My goal and teachings focus on love, forgiveness, peace, and oneness of all races,” he stated in response to the EU’s request for further information about BCS.
