Osoba Is Not Accredited By Bvas

Aremo Olusegun Osoba, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former governor of Ogun State, was repeatedly denied accreditation by the INEC’s Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which prevented him from exercising his right to vote.

The former governor of the state came to the Presidential and National Assembly (NASS) GRA site at 11 a.m. and made multiple attempts to get accredited, but the BVAS machine continually let him down by failing to recognize either his face or his fingerprints.

Osoba left the location with the words “I’m really unhappy” after the BVAS consistently failed to identify him, regardless of changing his posture and attire by doing the procedure both with and without his cap on.

He said, “The BVAS failed once again. Despite my two visits, the BVAS revoked my certification. A significant voter turnout in this unit may be called off as a result of this development. The same card was used in this unit for the 2019 election. That’s sad.

“The large attendance, especially from the elderly—many of them are over 70 and 80 years old—makes me feel extremely sad but also hopeful. The All Progressives Congress (APC) is likely to win as a result of the turnout. I have faith in INEC since the problem is the result of technical failure, and because just three or four of us are unfortunate, it’s not a significant setback for INEC. They’ll do all they can to make sure the Information Technology Center fixes the BVAS so that it functions better, I’m certain.

Osoba, who expressed happiness with the turnout, lamented that the election materials arrived late to his local council in Obafemi/Owode. “I am pleading with INEC to see to it that the voting session be extended in those locations where the election started late.”

“It is encouraging to see that the election will be conducted peacefully and with security. I want to express my gratitude and congratulations to our people for living in peace, regardless of whatever political party they support.
