Osinbajo Underlines The Aims Of The FG’s Energy Transition

One of the objectives of the Federal Government in pursuing a fair energy transformation agenda, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), is to find appropriate climate funding, particularly via the African Carbon Market Initiative (ACMI).

While hosting a group from the Rocky Mountain Institute, a global think tank active in the field of energy transition for the last 40 years, he made this statement yesterday.

Earlier in the day, Osinbajo had virtually participated in a meeting of the ACMI Steering Committee to discuss the status of the plans to expand the market in Nigeria and Africa.

He declared that the Federal Government will focus on problems relating to climate financing, specific initiatives that would help Nigeria reach its 2060 net-zero goal, and the potential introduction of electric cars in the nation.
