On Monday, Inec Will Hold Elections In 7 Registration Regions.

Elections will be held in seven Registration Areas (RA) in the state’s Degema Local Government Area, according to Johnson Sinikiem, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Rivers State.

Voting was unable to take place in the Tombia and Bakana regions due to logistical problems.

At a press conference, the REC said that the commission had received approval from the Abuja headquarters to hold the poll within 24 hours.

He cited a weak network for the inability to upload the results while noting that the 23 LGAs had seamless elections.

“This is a briefing to inform you of the depth of our preparations for the elections in Rivers State and what we anticipate,” he stated.

“For the Presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives races, results were generally compiled from polling places using forms EC8A, EC8A1, and EC8A2, respectively.

In every LGA, the polls went off without a hitch. Nevertheless, the presiding officers encountered a little issue while submitting polling unit results to the INEC results viewing websites.

“This is due to the inadequate network, which is a widespread issue.

At every location where the election was postponed yesterday for one reason or another.

In addition, he said, “I have obtained approval from the headquarters to go ahead and organize elections there within the shortest practicable period, with the exception of violence, that would not impact the result of the polls.”

He pointed out that counting for the Senate and House of Representatives elections is taking on concurrently at other counting locations.

He exhorts Rivers State’s residents and all stakeholders to be patient and hopeful throughout the electioneering process, stressing that every vote must be taken into account.
