Ohworode Of Olomu, The World’s Oldest Monarch, Has Died.

The Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, HRM, DR, (OVIE) R. L. Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro 1, Royal Canon, OON, Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers Urhobo Nation has joined his forefathers aged106 years.

Yesterday during a meeting of the traditional council held at the Ohworode palace in Ogoni Olomu, it was declared that the World’s Oldest Monarch would be departing for the afterlife.

 

“We can certify today that our Ohworode has gone back to God,” stated Olorogun Macaulay Ovbagbedia, Otota of the Olomu Kingdom, while making the news. He had a wonderful life and gave his country and his people excellent service.

 

We are both celebrating and grieving because of his advanced age, yet it’s still difficult. He spoke.

 

According to Olorogun Albert Akpomudje SAN, Akpile of Olomu Kingdom, the kingdom would observe 21 days of mourning during which time there will be no celebrations for funerals or weddings.

 

He also said that Chiefs shouldn’t wear the customary red cap and that they should instead accessorize with a black armband.

 

Plans for the funeral will be made public soon.

During a two-month period of health issues, the late Ohworode of Olomu celebrated his birthday on January 20 with a thanksgiving.
