Makinde Provides Free Public Transportation In Oyo

After the twin crises of running out of fresh naira notes and gasoline, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde deployed free Omituntun buses to help citizens commute across the state.

This was said in a statement made on Saturday in Ibadan by Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the Governor’s chief press secretary.

He said that in order to lessen people’s suffering, additional routes inside the state will get free deployment of the Omituntun Mass Transit Buses.

The governor said that his government was prepared to take all necessary action to lessen the suffering of the general populace.

Makinde, on the other hand, disapproved of the use of violent demonstrations by certain Ibadan citizens on Friday.

The government would not support any use of violence, he added, adding that using violence would lead to additional issues even if residents were allowed to express their opinions in a peaceful manner.

To prevent any loss of law and order, the governor has placed all state-run security organizations on high alert.

In the next general elections, he encouraged the populace to utilize their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to elect a responsible administration.
