Jehovah’s Witnesses Worldwide Resume In-person Gatherings

After almost three years of suspension for internet conventions and assemblies, the Jehovah’s Witnesses yesterday began their worldwide in-person assembly programs.

The meetings have been happening almost continuously since the COVID-19 epidemic began in March 2020. Even while the witnesses’ bigger assembly venues throughout the world remained under lockdown, they started holding meetings again in April 2022 in their Kingdom Halls. According to a statement from yesterday, hundreds of people flocked to the Assembly Hall in Lekki, Lagos, for the first assembly since the epidemic began, as early as 9:00am.

62 further assemblies are reportedly taking place this weekend in additional places, including Badagry, Ota, Daluwon, Benin, and Awi.

The “Jehovah’s United Family” assembly program included a three-part symposium. The speakers emphasized the biblical biographies of Jesus, Lydia, a follower of Jesus in the first century, and Elihu, a companion of Job. These historical personalities provide a great example for how to make others feel comfortable, which is essential for harmonious family relationships.

The event attracted more guests than the Assembly Hall could hold (almost 3,000), which was due to their joy at being reunited with their in-person assembly after over three years.

Jehovah’s Witnesses will hold their 2023 Assembly series across six continents, more than 200 countries, and over 400 languages. The show will be broadcast throughout Nigeria in English, Gun, Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo, and French. JW.org has further information on the initiative.
