In Ondo, A 75-year-old Grandmother Burns Her Son, Daughter-in-law, And Two Grandchildren.

Iforiti Oloro, a 75-year-old grandmother, is accused of setting her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren on fire in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, in the Aponmu neighborhood.

The family was sleeping when the grandma who shares a property with her son apparently came up at midnight and lit the home on fire.

The family’s home caught fire on Saturday at 2:00am when all of the family members were there, according to Bayo Adegboyega, a local resident.

“I had to shatter the windows to go inside and help my neighbors put out the fire. Unfortunately, the fire had already had an impact on Victor Oloro, his wife Racheal, and their two kids, Blessing and Toluwani, by the time we arrived.

“Thus, after being turned away from the state hospital in Akure due to the severity of the fire disaster, we took them to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo. Unfortunately, we lost the last born on arrival while the man and his wife passed away on Sunday night. Just the firstborn, who is in a serious state, is still alive.

According to reports, the septuagenarian admitted to setting the structure on fire because her son and his wife were allegedly depriving her of food.

State police spokeswoman Funmilayo Odunlami Omisanya confirmed the event and said that the local divisional police officer, or DPO, was still awaiting the incident’s specifics. So please allow me more time to get the information.
