In Niger, Enraged Teenagers Torch A Police Station After The Death Of A Reverend Father.

In Kafin-Koro District, Paikoro local council of the state, irate youths protesting the murder of a Reverend Father in Niger State by bandits have set a Police Divisional Office on fire.

According to the Catholic Diocese of Minna in Nigeria, it was claimed that robbers set fire to a parish rectory on Sunday in northern Nigeria, killing Reverend Father Isaac Achi, whose corpse was discovered amid the burned-out parish house of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

The worth of the damaged goods has not yet been determined, according to a statement from the State Police Command issued by its spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun.

He did, however, mention that a reinforcement team headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, was sent to the area and that the community’s calm has now been restored.

On a one-day official visit/tour of the Niger State Police Command, Assistant Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun from Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, visited Kafin-Koro Division to conduct an on-the-spot evaluation, he further said.

The AIG was welcomed by CP Ogundele Ayodeji, the Commissioner of Police, and other senior officials of the Command. Earlier, the AIG had paid a courtesy visit on Abubakar Sani Bello, the State Governor, at the Government House in Minna.

At the Officers’ Mess in Minna, he delivered a speech to the officers and members of the Command. The State PCRC executives, special vigilantes, and Emmanuel Umar, commissioner of internal security, attended the seminar.

The barbaric murder of Reverend Father Achi of the Catholic Diocese of Minna has been condemned by Catholic bishops in the country’s South West.
