In Abuja, Thugs Assault Inec Personnel And Damage BVAS.

On Saturday, suspected thugs assaulted several INEC ad hoc workers who were tented at the Gwagwalada Area Council in Abuja, smashing some vote boxes in the units.

“As a result, we were forced to evacuate when they came. As you can see, they damaged some of our property, but none of our members were wounded. More than 100 persons have received accreditation thus far.

They allegedly came at the voting location when voters were being accredited and voting was taking place and chased both the INEC and voters away.

One voter also bemoaned the fact that she was unable to vote since she misplaced her voter’s card throughout the procedure.

But others demanded that INEC deliver replacement voting materials, insisting that they still cast their ballots regardless of what had transpired.

At the time of this report, security forces had just arrived on the location. They made a call for calm and advised the INEC officials to continue with the voting since there would be no problem.
