Group Urges Nigerians To Support Obi In The Election

Yesterday, the Zikist-Aminu Kano Patriots (ZAP) backed Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president, and urged Nigerians to cast their ballots in favor of him on Saturday.

Obi is the preferred candidate, according to a statement released by ZAP’s Secretary General, Dr. Steve Igweze, following the group’s meeting in Enugu. ZAP said that its members deliberated on various issues and expectations of Nigerians from whoever emerges as the next president and came to that conclusion.

“ZAP carefully evaluated the antecedents of the four leading presidential candidates, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubukar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Peter Obi of the LP, before coming to the conclusion that Obi presents more reliable character, capacity, and competence to lift Nigeria out of the current cliff-hanger,” reads the statement.

The declaration reads: “Obi’s commitment to turn Nigeria from a consumption-based to a productive nation is feasible given the fact that he has invested in Onitsha, Ogun, and Abuja in addition to the fact that he is a careful person who finds it simpler to conserve our commonwealth for investment. It seems that none of the other two presidential contenders have this quality.

ZAP discussed Obi’s proposal to mechanize a vast area of land in Northern Nigeria in order to implement a massive agricultural revolution, according to the statement, and stressed that “it believes that Obi’s agrarian revolution comes as a seamless continuation of President Buhari’s efforts in that regard, evidenced by his Anchor Borrowers Programme and Green Imperative Project.”

A segment of Ohanaeze Ndigbo also pleaded with Nigerians, particularly those from the North, to support Peter Obi for president in order to prevent the nation from imploding completely.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary General of the factional Igbo socio-cultural organization, said in a statement from Abakaliki that electing Obi as president will not only change the economy but also change how the nation is seen by the outside community.
