For Pvc Collection, Umahi Proclaims Thursday And Friday As Public Holidays.

Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi yesterday proclaimed Thursday and Friday to be public holidays so that all primary and secondary school employees may get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The governor said that the vacations are required in a statement released in Abakaliki by the state’s commissioner for information and orientation, Uchenna Orji, in order to allow individuals who have not yet obtained their PVCs to do so.

He instructed them to go to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collecting centers in their respective councils to get their PVCs, keeping in mind that the deadline for getting them is January 29.

According to the statement, “Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has declared two days public holiday from Thursday, January 26 to Friday, January 27, 2023, for all civil and public servants, as well as those working in primary and secondary schools, in consideration of INEC’s deadline for collection of PVCs nationwide.”
