Fct Minister Issues Arrest Warrants For Developers And FHA Officials
Malam Muhammad Bello, the FCT Minister, has ordered security forces to detain Federal Housing Authority officials as well as the developer in connection with the collapse of the two-story suspended structure in Abuja.
Umar Shuaibu, the Coordinator for the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), said this during a press conference on Saturday.
According to Shuaibu, the minister ordered the security organizations to detain the FHA official tasked with overseeing the project.
The coordinator said that the engineer in charge of overseeing the development and the FHA official in charge of issuing the development permission were to be detained for suspected homicide by security personnel.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the structure, which was still being built, collapsed at about 11 a.m. on Thursday at 6th Avenue in Gwarimpa Estate, trapping 24 people. Three of the victims have been identified as deceased, while 21 others have been found alive.
