Family Court Will Open In Benue In Three Months.

In three months, equipment will be put in place to commence family court in the state, according to Justice Maurice Ahemba Ikpambese, acting chief judge of Benue State.

He revealed this yesterday in Makurdi during a discussion with Dr. Nawani Aboki, Director/Chief Executive of the Centre for Women, Youth, and Community Action (NACWYCA).

The acting CJ praised NACWYCA for ensuring that family court was established and that the child rights legislation was put into effect in the zone and across the federation.

Benue, he said, places a high priority on the wellbeing of children because they understand that the future is in their hands.

Everything is ready for the family court to proceed in the state, he said. The only thing left to do is, within the next three months, acquire a solid infrastructure that can house both the family court and our judges.

Dr. Aboki responded and thanked the acting CJ for helping to set up the court in Benue state.
