Enugu CP Visits INEC Facilities And Guarantees Safe, Peaceful Elections

In eight local government areas in Enugu State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices have been visited for review by the state’s commissioner of police, Mr. Ahmed Ammani.

The commissioner also informed the populace that there would be calm, security, and safety before to, during, and after the general election period.

The state police spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, made this declaration on the commissioner’s behalf on Tuesday in Enugu.

Ndukwe said that on Monday, the commissioner conducted the evaluation trip.

The evaluation, in accordance with the CP, is a component of steps taken to enhance security and guarantee optimum fortification of INEC facilities (offices) in Enugu State.

Awgu, Aninri, Nkanu East, Nkanu West, Oji-River, Udi, Ezeagu, and Uzo-Uwani were among the INEC offices that were visited.

The commissioner praised the police and other security personnel who were on duty as well as the security measures INEC has put in place in the majority of the offices they visited.

He commanded the security personnel to vigorously repel any criminal invasions into the offices by being strong, uncompromising, and decisive in their response.

Anything to the contrary, he declared, would not be tolerated.

The CP informed locals—particularly voters and stakeholders—of the police’s and other security services’ preparedness to guarantee that the general elections were held in an environment of public peace, security, and safety.

He urged political gladiators in the state to maintain civility and carry out their campaigning in compliance with established laws and regulations, he added.

The commissioner also exhorts the law-abiding citizens of the state to maintain their vigilance, uphold the law, and assist the security authorities.

The CP asked citizens to immediately notify the local police station of any illegal activity that would interfere with the state’s ongoing smooth voting process.
