El-zakzaky Denies Supporting Peter Obi In The 2023 Election.

The head of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, has disputed allegations that he has endorsed Peter Obi, the nominee of the Labour Party (LP), for president.

In a statement released on Saturday, the group’s head, also known as a Shi’ite, said that the news was untrue and that it should be disregarded since he had not sponsored either Obi or any other presidential contender for the 2023 race.

On Friday, there were widespread rumors that the Shi’ite leader had endorsed the former governor of Anambra State and urged his followers to cast their ballots for Obi.

El-Zakzaky, however, denounced the rumors as the creation of liars in a statement issued by his attorney Marshall Abubakar of the Falana & Falana Chambers.

That’s false information. Although a few presidential candidates have contacted him, I can assure you that there is nothing of the kind. He has refrained from supporting any of them because he thinks the 2023 presidential election would be free of any ideological bias, Marshal added.
