Catholic Church Awaits Kaduna Seminary Fire Police Report

The Saint Peter Catholic Seminary, which is situated in Kateri village along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, has been destroyed by fire. The school’s dining hall, kitchen, dining room, two dorms, and laboratory were all damaged by the blaze.

In a statement on the tragedy, Christian Okewu Emmanuel, Vice Chancellor of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna, claimed that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Rev. Fr. Emmanuel said that further details on the incident will be released to the public in due time. The event has been submitted to the police for inquiry, according to Elder Sunday Oibe, Secretary General of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

“I have phoned my director who is a leader in the Catholic Church, the incidence is factual,” Oibe said in a statement to The Guardian. We are looking into what started the fire. This is due to the fact that there were no clear indications as to what specifically sparked the fire at the time.

It is a regrettable development, he remarked. Let’s hope the police can assist identify the reason because the Catholic reported the occurrence to the authorities. The police should be able to find out what happened if it was caused by sabotage or an electrical malfunction, which is doubtful.

In this seminary, students are taught how to teach others in the community. Why is this occurring at such a crucial moment? And this only indicates that individuals should use caution in their handling of the fire problem. We shall watch the results of the police inquiry with patience.
