Bello, The Governor Of Kogi, Declares The Election To Be Calm And Casts His Ballot In Agasa.

Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi state, has urged voters to behave peacefully during the voting period for the state house of assembly election in order to ensure free and fair elections.

Shortly after casting his ballot at Agassa, Upogoro ward polling unit eleven in the Agassa hamlet, the Governor made this statement.

Bello said that the grassroots should control the state assembly election and urged eligible voters to follow the law’s requirements by casting their ballots peacefully.

He promised that the All Progressive Congress (APC) would win the contest, exactly as it did in the presidential race.

Bello expressed pleasure with the level of voting participation and urged voters in the state to cast their ballots accurately and peacefully.

The State House of Assembly election would be free, fair, and trustworthy, according to the governor, who praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its thorough planning.

Abdulkareem Suleiman, the APC candidate for Okene, expressed satisfaction with the degree of INEC preparedness and the way the poll was handled.

He expressed confidence that the APC will win the election in the end.

Speaking also after casting his ballot in Adavi Eba’s polling unit 001, Dr. Sanusi Muhammed, the former executive director of the Rural Electrification Agency, noted that the turnout for the state house of assembly election was considerably lower than it was for the presidential election held two weeks prior. He attributed the low turnout to obvious causes.

“First of all, in Kogi state, we are not participating in the gubernatorial race today; rather, we are just voting in the state house of assembly. Voting is a priority for many individuals, which is why the presidential election had a high voter turnout.

“Overall, today’s election turnout wasn’t too poor. I cast my ballot, and the election was calm. Early on election day, INEC employees arrived at the polling places with voting supplies.

“The BVAS now operates extremely efficiently and quickly to the point that a qualified voter may be accredited and cast a ballot within a minute or two.

The Kogi gubernatorial election is coming up, thus INEC has to work on improving their logistics.
