Adebanjo Claims That The Igbo Have Not Offered Obi Adequate Assistance.

Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of Afenifere, claims the Igbo are not providing Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), with enough financial assistance. Adebanjo claims that it would be a huge disgrace if Obi runs out of money.

Speaking during a memorial service for the late Prof. George Obiozor, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Lagos, Adebanjo made this statement.

“Unfortunately, the Igbo are not providing Obi with financial assistance,” the Afenifere leader added. I’m openly challenging you. Obi hasn’t received any financial assistance from you. We who support him are underprivileged.

“I am aware that you all are multibillionaires. Now is the moment to make a charitable purchase. When he has you folks, Obi shouldn’t have to suffer financially for this cause.

Adebanjo said that the killing occurred at a bad moment since Obiozor was one of the only persons fighting to free the nation from decades of tyranny.

In support of his claim that the Igbo would elect Nigeria’s next leader, Adebanjo said: “This is the circumstance in which we came together in 1960. Before we became Nigeria, our leaders, including Nnamdi Azikiwe and Obafemi Awolowo, agreed to it.
